How are you today? Have you taken a moment to start your day with taking some deep breaths, stretching and being mindful of every vertebrae in your body that moves with each bend, twist and reach you make? What products have you used after your shower and applied on your skin? Have you started your day with a coffee, or water with lemon? Have you made yourself a breakfast or snack protein driven?
If you answered No to any of those, please think again and ask yourself do you want to get closer to your goal of bringing down your cortisol levels, feeling present, calm and ready to face the day? And if THAT answer is YES, then revisit the questions above.
Do not worry, simple changes bring BIG gains, even I have to remind myself of this from time to time. We really need to be cognizant of where we lead our brain and mind!
Simple changes again – LEAD to HUGE gains over time. Think about brushing your teeth once a week? Who does this!? Ok maybe some people do, but mostly we do brush our teeth daily and two times within the day and night. Add that up over time. Would your shell of your body thank you for having this routine be part of yours 52x per year? Or would your body thank you for having this be done 730x per year? Whoa!! What HUGE difference.
Skincare– From the over the counter moisturizer brands you can find at Target AND BUY, To upleveling your choices by choosing to buy Sesame Oil, Coconut Oil, or Apricot Oil at your local grocery store. Do you know how much more you get in a bottle versus those small containers of well-marketed moisturizers filled with chemicals or preservatives.
Candles– Switch to using a diffuser and emitting Essentials Oils (doTERRA perferred for myself) and make sure the oil is actual oil and not chemically produced in a lab! https://doterra.me/Wut8H8
Deodorant and Lotions– Look at Lume brand of deodorant known for its natural formulation neutralizing body odor. This brand is an aluminum-free, baking soda-free, and safe for sensitive skin. Body lotions, change out with castor oil! Check out https://queenofthethrones.com/
Foods– How much do you buy pre-mixed? Many of us do out of convenience. Take cream cheese for example. There are multiple cream cheese flavors. Ask yourself how much more of your time does it really take to buy some fresh chives or scallions and add fresh veggies to your cream cheese, mix it together and spread your own on your bagel? Buy plain hummus; add your own olive oil and fresh parsley.
Dampness in the Home– Buy a dehumidifier! Damp in home is stagnant energy. Humidification is different energy than dampness from leaky windows or leaky dishwasher. Think about the floor of where that water is draining naturally when a leak is not fixed. The wetness eventually dries but continuous leaks lead to continuous growth of …….mold! Which effects our oxygen intake.
Alcohol– Trade your cravings for a fancy cocktail to a MOCKTAIL. Buy plain seltzers and add in juice!! Start there if this is new for you. An added next step is buy juice that is seriously just the juice from the fruit. Example Tart cherry juice, reads ingredients as CHERRIES! Add in half a portion to the seltzer and add a slice of lemon and VOILA! It can really taste like a professional cocktail without the buzz.
Buzz’s are not great. Honestly, alcohol is a depressant. A stimulant like caffeine is a stimulant to your brain. Alcohol provides a false fluctuation which tricks your brain into thinking you feel better or good and need more.
Supplements- When and how to take them? What’s in them? Can you read and pronounce the ingredients in the label? For example Standard Process Brand, their vitamin C contains carrots and some other veggies. Iron, are you taking Iron on an empty stomach with full glass of water first thing in the morning with a splash of lemon or orange juice to help the absorption.
